After a difficult battle that lasted many months, Superstar Singer 2 on Saturday found its winner in Mohammad Faiz. The 14-year-old beat Mani, Pranjal Biswas, Sayisha Gupta, Aryananda R Babu, and Rituraj to take home the trophy and cash prize of Rs 15 lakh. Hosted by Aditya Narayan, the singing reality show featured Alka Yagnik, Himesh Reshammiya and Javed Ali as judges.
Faiz has been perhaps of the most reliable and darling entertainer on the show. He was additionally named ‘Future voice of sentiment’ by Akshay Kumar. After his most memorable tryout, where he warbled “Khamoshiyan”, the youthful vocalist turned into a fan-number one. Judge Himesh Reshammiya has even delivered a music video with him. His captain, Indian Idol 12 runner-up Arunita Kanjilal, called the show the ‘most wonderful experience’ of her life. Congratulating her mentee, she said in a statement, “This is a huge honour for both of us. I am also very grateful to everyone who has supported and showered their love on Mohammad Faiz; making him win the coveted title of this season’s ‘Singing Ka Kal.’ I am super proud of Faiz and all the other contestants who have amazed everybody with their melodious voices.
